Intranasal sedation involves administering a medication through the nasal route. It offers a slightly deeper relaxation effect compared to nitrous oxide and is commonly used in pediatric settings when appropriate.

Indications:

• Children with moderate dental anxiety 
• Individuals who cannot swallow oral medication 
• Patients requiring brief procedures but needing more calming support
   

Safety:
Dosage is weight-based, monitored continuously, and used only where clinically indicated.

IV sedation can help patients remain deeply relaxed while still conscious and able to respond to verbal cues. It is typically considered for more involved dental procedures or for patients with significant dental anxiety.

Common reasons patients choose IV sedation:

• Difficulty sitting through long procedures 
• Strong gag reflex 
• High anxiety or previous traumatic dental experiences 
• Need for multiple procedures in fewer visits
   

Safety:
IV sedation is administered by trained professionals, with continuous monitoring of oxygenation, pulse, blood pressure, and responsiveness throughout the procedure.

Note: IV sedation is offered only after a detailed medical assessment and is not suitable for all patients.
